FAQ

  • WHAT TYPE OF LASER IS USED?

The Soprano ICE uses a diode laser to provide the most complete and effective laser hair removal solution available today.

Soprano ICE allows for treating the widest range of patients and hair types all year round, administering treatments quickly and comfortably to achieve the best possible clinical results.

Perfect for any body part – including sensitive and hard to reach areas.

  • IS IT SAFE?

SHR™ is a safe method of laser hair removal for all skin types, including dark skin

Hair follicles are damaged not by a single pulse of high energy, but by repetitive short energy pulses. These pulses minimize the risk of burning to the skin, as it is the heat build-up which raises the temperature of the dermis to the level needed for preventing hair growth.

While birth control does not affect hair removal, you cannot get treatments while on accutane of other photosensitive drugs. Clients must wait 30 days after finishing antibiotics to resume treatments.

  • WILL IT WORK ON MY SKIN?

The Soprano ICE is effective for light or dark skin as well as coarse or fine hair with a proven safety record for dark skin.

Soprano is FDA cleared for skin types I-VI and treatments can be performed any time of the year including on tanned skin.

  • DOES IT HURT?

The short answer is no - the Soprano ICE delivers a massage-like sensation and due to the cooling tip, there is no pain. You may experience a slight heat sensation in sensitive areas, such as face and bikini.

SHR™ is a clinically proven method of laser hair removal that is virtually painless. The unique heating and energy delivery method effectively damages the hair follicle and prevents re-growth, while preventing injury to the surrounding tissue. At the same time, ICE™ technology cools the skin surface, preventing superficial burns and the sensation of pain.

  • HOW MANY SESSIONS WILL I NEED?

Most clients require 6-12 sessions to get rid of their hair. After the 4th session, people will experience about 80% hair loss.

Hair growth occurs in 4 stages:
    Early Anagen (early hair growth)
    Anagen (active hair growth)
    Catagen (regression)
    Telogen (resting, not growing)

Laser hair removal only affects the Anagen stage, (actively growing hair). With about 25% of the hair being targeted in each session, multiple sessions are required.

  • WHAT DO I DO BEFORE/AFTER MY APPOINTMENT?

Clients are required to shave treatment area(s) 24 hours prior to appointment & arrive with clean skin (no makeup, lotion, or deodorant).

Avoid BHAs, AHAs, retinol, and benzoyl peroxide for 2 days before & after treatment.

Avoid sun exposure for 7 days before & after.

After treatments, clients are asked to avoid hot showers & working out/sweating for 24 hours along with saunas or hot tubs for 48 hours.

To get the best results, clients are asked to exfoliate 1-2 times a week between sessions while avoiding waxing, sugaring, or tweezing.
